First graders recently got to create snowflakes in Art class on the iPads using the My Flake app. They had a great time experimenting with this app, while sharpening their skills with the iPad. Hope you enjoy our little snowstorm!
Students really enjoy receiving comments about their artwork on Artsonia! I just found this awesome comment that one of our third graders received from her Mom. Parents and students, please take time to show your support for the artists in your lives! Sending a comment is free and very simple to do. Here is the link our East Jackson Elementary Art Gallery on Artsonia: http://www.artsonia.com/schools/school.asp?id=64720 Search for the Artist you want to find by entering their name in the box. Click on his/her gallery. Select the work of art you wish to compliment. Click on the speech bubble that looks like this: Then, click "Enter a Web Comment", type your comment, check the appropriate boxes and submit! Comments must be approved by parents before they can be seen publicly on the gallery page. Parents who have active Artsonia accounts will receive an email that will require a click to either approve or remove the comment.
When an artist receives 5 or more comments, the little award symbol on his/her gallery page will light up blue! Let's show these kids how much we appreciate their creative efforts! We have the opportunity to participate in the Cascades Renovation Project's Fundraising Contest. Schools from Jackson County were invited to create murals which will be displayed in the community during the fundraising campaign. Members of the Jackson Community will be able to donate money toward the Renovation Project and contribute towards their favorite banner! We have several kids, grades K-12 who have helped create our mural. It's almost done! We've been working very hard to finish it up. Check out some of our pictures.
